Today Adobe revealed the next version of my favorite software – After Effects CS6. This release, for me, is a milestone and has a few new features which are a game changer. Just to name a few: Global Performance Cache; Ray-traced extruded text and shapes; 3D camera tracker; Variable mask feathering; and my personal favorite, Vector art import from Adobe Illustrator® with conversion to shape layers.
I’m sure that there will be a real buzz about CS6 at NAB and I will contribute my part as well. Also, stay tuned for a new training product coming out soon. For now, I want to show you a few short tutorials of some of the new tools. You can watch each one with its final result on the tutorials page, but for connivance here are the three back to back below:
3D Environment – Using the CC Environment effect and the new Environment Layer using After Effects CS6
Shapes from Vectors – Make instant Promo using the new Create Shapes from Vector Layer in After Effects CS6
Mask Feather Tool – How to get the most out of the Mask Feather Tool in After Effects CS6
These are only few samples from what looks like one of the best releases of After Effects, more coming soon
